Fashion Magazine Philippines

Fashion Magazine Philippines Together with the Internet, Fashion Magazines are one of the most informational source people often use. They are also known as a guide for us in our daily life.

  • Callaway Cars specializes in engineering and building high-performance versions of General Motors products, most notably its supercharged C7 Chevrolet Corvettes.
  • Other vehicles modified by Callaway include Chevy and GMC pickups, SUVs, and the Camaro.
  • The C8 won’t get the Callaway treatment until at least the Z06 model gets released. “We choose the top performing model and do something to it,” says Reeves Callaway.

First, the bad news: There won’t be a Callaway version of the new C8 Corvette until next year. Word is they have at least four Chevy Corvette Stingrays in the shop in Old Lyme, Connecticut, right now, with all kinds of experimental means for adding “some form of positive manifold pressure,” as company owner and founder Reeves Callaway puts it. In the past that has meant superchargers or turbochargers. But Reeves was coy about exactly what would be boosting the beast come next year.

“What we have to do from a product point of view is slotted to the product plan in the correct way,” he said. “And what that means for us is, we can’t compete with any model that General Motors produces, we have to be an additive to whatever model we choose. And whatever model makes the most sense, though we don’t want to be in a position where people have to choose between a Calloway and a General Motors standard product, we want them to always think of the standard product as enhanced by Callaway’s approach. So generally, we choose the top performing model and do something to it.”

Word on the street, or at least on the internet, is that the coming C8 Corvette Z06 will use a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated flat-plane-crank V8 that will make over 600 horsepower, according to our colleagues at Car and Driver. A step up from that, the Corvette ZR1 is expected to use a twin-turbo version of the 5.5-liter V8, again, according to speculation. The current, stock Corvette C8 uses a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 good for 495 hp. So Callaway would have to top at least 600 hp using turbocharging, supercharging, or who knows what to cram more air molecules into all eight combustion chambers.

“It will always be the most performance that you can get in a GM platform vehicle, whether it’s a truck, or a Corvette, Suburban, or Tahoe,” said Callaway. “It always has to be the highest performing of any of those.”

    The Callaway Silverado Signature Edition.

Right now you can order a Callaway supercharger that fits right onto any 6.2-liter GM V8. I just drove the Callaway Silverado Signature Edition, for instance, powered by the GenThree TVS R2650 Supercharger System with Callaway’s patented TripleCooled Intercooling. That was good for 602 peak horsepower and 560 peak lb-ft of torque, or enough to launch you to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds at 113 mph. All that in a crew-cab full-size pickup truck. While launching off the line will take a few degrees of finesse to get the power down without simply spinning the rear wheels, the most impressive quality of that setup was the deep availability of low- and mid-range torque. Well worth the $18,000 the system costs.

“The truck that you drove has a completely new version, much larger size,” said Callaway. “It’s a 2800cc-per-revolution supercharger. And that’s why the mid-range of that truck feels so good when you’re not really going to wide-open throttle, but you’re just sort of giving it a little gas to get up to like 50 or 60 mph. Notice how strongly it pulls? That’s because of that new size supercharger, but it’s sort of a new size in the same package.”

While Callaway first produced a package like this for the 6.2-liter GM V8 in 2012, as he says, this one is all-new, with 15 percent more displacement requiring 18 percent less power input.

All well and good, but what about your C8? Well, you can get Callaway wheels and tires right now, and in about six weeks you’ll be able to get a C8 aero package with a rear wing and front spoiler. But for now, maybe consider buying a truck. It’ll be the most fun you’ll have in something this big and orange.
